September 21

Woke up to a very stormy day in Iceland and were slow to get moving in the morning. We made our way to the pingviller (thingviller) national park which in a nutshell is where the tectonic plates are divided, as well as being a very important area in the political history of the island. I could try and explain it all but it would be easier for those interested to look it up! We made our way back across another GPS shortcut which turned out to be one of the coolest roads I've ever driven, with 16% grades and switchbacks. After travelling the road for awhile we came across one of the many geothermal power plants that supply electricity and hot water to the towns. (Also interesting to read about if you want, the power plant we came across was

finished the day off having a hotdog with amber (icelands local favourite food!) at a local chain that is well known for their dogs.    Kelsey

with a quick stop at the mall where amber and I ate a famous hotdog (icelands national food), amber says it was the best she ever had and packed our bags and we are off to Bergen this morning.
