How the heck are we going to fit ALL that in such a small space?
These are just the clothes that I (Wendi here) am taking in that beautiful blue back pack. The other backpack will hold my camera and journaling materials, because I NEED my watercolour journal AND my writing journal AND all my pencils, pens and paints. I have a feeling that I have too much and that somewhere is some wise person saying "you don't need that many clothes" but I am a plan for everything type person! I have nearly every essential oil and every cold/flu medication packed in there as well. (I read that you can't buy decongestant over the counter in a lot of places) Hopefully we won't need them, and it would be nice if I don't need the long underwear I've laid out, but the odds are not in my favor for that! We are going to be in some pretty chilly places.
Anyway, the count down is on, my mom (house sitter extraordinaire) is going to be here tomorrow. I have a stock pile of chicken feed, the car has been serviced for her use, we have parked vehicles and tidied up the yard to prepare for winter, we've visited some friends with some friends to still see! I've tried to think of all the phone numbers mom might need and put those together. We have our plane tickets to Halifax, Iceland and Norway and places to stay up until Oslo. We also received our train tickets a few weeks ago, they are in the pile with all our important documents, they don't become activated until our first ride and so will last until we get to Barcelona, where we also have a place booked for the month of December. The eurorail passes last ninety days from the day they are stamped and get you everywhere with the exception of Britain and Scotland. In between Oslo and Barcelona there are a whole lot of days that we do NOT have a place to stay booked! Part of our adventure is finding places along the way, this is not very exciting to the fifteen year old, who despite our best efforts is not very excited at all about leaving her friends and school (I would have LOVED to leave school at her age!) I was informed yesterday that she wasn't going to any "boring" museums, so I assured her that I was quite confident that none of the many museums that we would be going to were boring.
It is snowing tonight and I was wishing that I was leaving winter behind but from what I have found out so far we are just heading to a different land with fairly similar weather!
