Not that we are keeping score but if we were, Paris/France is losing. It was good to see the city and we were very impressed with the area we stayed in and the monuments we saw. We just seemed to have a few bad experiences with our short visit. France is the least supportive country, and the hardest to use, and charges the most when it comes to the eurorail passes out of anywhere we stayed so far. The apartment we booked lead us to believe they had an airport shuttle service, which cost 95e or $140 and was expected in cash upon arrival! Thank goodness the bank machine was fairly close! The apartment was very unique and a great location but was expensive and not very clean, seemed like it was quickly organized just as we walked in and bedding needed washing. We are looking back through visa statement and we were billed twice at a souvenir shop, and lastly, the car we booked to leave was 45 minutes late and tried leaving us at wrong station( good thing we scoped it the day before) and billed us full rate. We lined him up two hours early and just barely made the train! So go to Paris but be prepared for a few bumps and bring money, not a big deal we just were caught off guard.
