There are these very noisy birds in Växjö, and our bedroom sits with the window right above some large trees, that and the fact that I am finding my rhythm with time now are the reasons I am waking at seven each am. The birds are really neat though, like little crows but bodies are grey. Very inquisitive and I don't know if it is a sign for something but twice I've been in a crowd where one has nearly landed on our heads, once in arvika and once in bergen, and yesterday one was was watching us very intently and I would have sworn he was ready to pounce the way he was perched and looking...maybe he thought my pony tail was a squirrel.
Anyway, I'm up and you are all settling in to your beds, except my sister who likes to stay up til it's almost morning! So I thought I would post a couple pictures for a change. We took a beautiful walk around a lake yesterday, Växjösjön. It was a gorgeous fall day and the trails are spectacular! The lake hike is a four kilometre walk and we were STUNNED when a man in his eighties JOGGED by us in the opposite direction and AGAIN before we had reached our starting point! People were out walking, strolling and everyone has a bike! We also saw another museum (score one more for mom haha) it was about småland area, and there was an art gallery and a glass section. I didn't know about this area and glass! It's famous for glass creations and with good reason, beautiful items come from here. It was a nice day, relaxing but lots of fresh air and sunshine. I could walk around he neighbourhoods for hours, the houses are so beautiful and the trees are gorgeous! The people have been friendly and helpful, they don't smile and say hello when you are out and about but if they see you struggling with something they offer help readily.
Today we are taking the train to Kalmar for the day and I am stoked to see a castle! Have a great day everyone! Wendi
