Delft's leaning tower
Nothing very exciting to post, we are all layed up with a cold and not moving very far. Going to just relax in Delft for the weekend and stroll around the local streets and enjoy the weather. This is a great quiet layed back place to relax and get healthy before the next stay in Ireland. We booked our flights for Dublin and have had a real tough time getting rooms, there is a marathon going on there as well as it is fall break for students so all holiday homes are booked up. We managed to get a room in Dublin the 23, then a BB in Ennis for two nights and a townhouse a few kms out of for a few nights after that. We are hoping that gets us past the busy week and then we will stay near Dublin for last 10 days or so. The pictures are of the old church tower built 1325 during construction the canal was in the way, water was diverted and canal filled. Tower began to lean during construction possibly from soft ground underneath old canal. It stood almost 2 meters off plumb, the four corners were replaced in 1900 the tower is stabilized and closely monitored.
